They have an incidence of around 0.1__ampersandsignndash;0.13 cases per 100000 people. We report the case of a 55-year-old woman presenting with a mass of the postero-medial aspect of upper part of right thigh. On fine needle aspiration cytology it was interpreted as a neurofibromatous lesion. She underwent marginal excision. The pathological examination revealed the diagnosis of intramuscular myxoma.
