Reporting of adverse drug reactions is an important step for improving drug selection and drug development thereby improving patient care. Objective: To analyze the adverse drug reactions with respect to the causative drugs, clinical manifestations and its severity. Methodology: Adverse drug reactions were collected for a period of eight months (July 2014 to February 2015) in specific format.198 ADRs were collected from the hospital wards of various clinical departments during this period and analysis was done. Results: The mean age of the sample population was 43.5 years. Female to male ratio was 1.02: 1. The maximum number of adverse drug reactions were due to antibiotics (34.8%) followed by NSAIDs (14.6%) The manifestations of adverse drug reactions were maximum in skin (71.7%) followed by CNS (12.6%), GIT (9.1%), hematopoietic system (5.1%), Respiratory system (4.5%). Severity assessment (modified Hartwig Siegel scale) showed that 12.1%, 82.85% and 5.05% were mild, moderate and severe adverse drug reactions respectively. Seriousness criteria assessment showed that 73.2% of the reactions prolonged the hospitalization of patients, 17.2% of the reactions required intervention to prevent permanent damage and 1% of the reactions were life threatening. Causality assessment using Naranjo__ampersandsignrsquo;s scale revealed that majority of adverse drug reactions were rated as possible (63.2%). Conclusions: In the study majority of the adverse drug reactions were caused by antibiotics and maximum number of cases was of moderate severity. Spontaneous reporting of ADRs has to be encouraged in all hospitals by conducting pharmacovigilance programmes involving all those concerned with health c
